Are There Wellness Retreats Focused on Guided Psychedelic Experiences for Women?

Are There Wellness Retreats for Guided Psychedelic Experiences for Women? | Well Dosed

Yes — and they are nothing like what most people imagine when they hear the word retreat. The best women's psychedelic wellness retreats are not about escape. They are about arrival. Arriving at yourself — your real self, beneath the roles, the conditioning, the years of performing okayness — in a container held specifically for women, by women who have done their own work.

At Well Dosed Wellness, we offer two distinct retreat experiences designed to do exactly this. Both are rooted in the same philosophy: that psychedelic healing for women is not self-improvement. It is ascension work.

This is not self-improvement. This is ascension work.

What Makes a Women's Psychedelic Retreat Different

Women's nervous systems, relational patterns, and healing timelines are distinct. Most psychedelic retreat models were designed by and for men — emphasizing solo journeys, ego dissolution, and peak experiences. While powerful, this model often misses what women most need: relational safety, somatic attunement, and space for the emotional body to lead.

A retreat designed specifically for women holds all of this. The ceremony container is shaped around feminine cycles of descent and return. Integration is woven into the experience itself, not tacked on afterward. And the facilitators in the room understand — from their own lives — what it means to carry the weight that most women carry.

Our Retreat Experiences

Colorado · Crested Butte

HELD

HELD takes place in Crested Butte, Colorado — a landscape that does its own ceremonial work before the medicine even begins. The altitude, the silence, the quality of light at elevation creates a natural liminality that softens the ordinary mind and makes room for something deeper.

HELD is a small-group women's retreat built around guided ketamine ceremony and deep integration. It draws on my training as a Licensed Acupuncturist and Psychedelic Facilitator, as well as my work within the Church of the Open Heart — a legal sacramental framework for psychedelic ceremony. We keep groups small so that every woman in the room receives genuine attention, not managed distance.

Women leave HELD having moved something that has been stuck — sometimes for decades. The work is not linear. It is not always comfortable. But it is held, witnessed, and met with the kind of care that makes transformation possible rather than just intense.

Hawaii · Oahu

Earth & Heart Medicine Retreat

For women who feel called to go deeper, the Earth & Heart Medicine Retreat takes place on Oahu, Hawaii, co-facilitated with Anastasia of Kalama Retreats. This is a land that has held ceremony for thousands of years. The aloha spirit is not a tourism slogan — it is a real energetic quality that opens people differently than any other environment I have facilitated in.

Earth & Heart works with plant medicine in a sacred, intentional framework — honoring both indigenous wisdom traditions and the scientific understanding of how these compounds interact with the nervous system and psyche. The co-facilitation model means women are held by two experienced practitioners throughout the arc of their experience: before, during, and after ceremony.

This is not a vacation with a ceremony attached. It is a full initiation — the kind that women historically had access to through rites of passage that our modern culture stopped offering. Earth & Heart restores that. In a landscape that remembers how.

What to Look for in a Women's Psychedelic Retreat

Not all retreats are equal. As psychedelic wellness becomes more mainstream, the market is filling with offerings that prioritize aesthetics over depth, or scale over safety. Here is what actually matters:

Facilitator credentials and lineageWho trained this person, and how? Titles like 'guide' or 'shaman' are unregulated. Look for actual training programs, licensing, and transparent methodology.

Legal and ethical frameworkUnderstand what medicines are being used, under what legal structure, and what harm reduction practices are in place.

Integration supportThe ceremony is the beginning, not the destination. Real retreats build integration into the container — not just a follow-up email.

Group sizeSmaller is safer. A facilitator cannot genuinely hold more than a handful of women through active ceremony.

Women-only containerMixed-gender retreats can be powerful, but they activate different relational dynamics. Many women drop into deeper vulnerability in a women-only space.

This Work Is for Women Who Are Ready to Stop Managing Their Life and Start Living It

The women who come to HELD and Earth & Heart are not broken. They are often the most capable, high-functioning women in their lives — which is exactly why they are exhausted. They have been so busy managing, optimizing, and holding it all together that they have never had a container designed to hold them.

Psychedelic ceremony, when held with skill and intention, creates the conditions for a woman to put down what she has been carrying and ask: Who am I when I am not performing? What do I actually want? What is mine to keep — and what is mine to release?

Those are not small questions. They deserve a container worthy of them.
